CASA MISSION STATEMENT

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire, Inc.

Mission statement: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization committed to speaking for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the New Hampshire courts.  CASA recruits trains and supervises volunteers who advocate for this vulnerable population.  The CASA program’s primary goal is to ensure that each and every child in the state is permitted to grow up in a safe and permanent home.

CASA helps guide abused and neglected children expeditiously through the child protection and juvenile justice systems to safe and permanent homes by recruiting, training and supervising ordinary citizen volunteers to represent victimized children as their guardians ad litem (GALs).  By providing these children with a strong and sensible voice amidst the confusion and uncertainty of overburdened systems, CASA/GALs make an extraordinary difference in New Hampshire District and Family Courts.  They can focus dedicated time and energy on determining and expressing the best interests of that one child or one sibling group. Conscientious judges can then make more informed decisions, prompting more hopeful, productive futures and interrupting the cycle of abuse that can often repeat generation after generation.
